PADI DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIP

The PADI Divemaster is the first level of the PADI Professional ratings and is a qualification that allows you to supervise recreational diving activities and work as an instructional assistant on PADI courses. It is also the minimum prerequisite for enrollment in a PADI Instructor Course (IDC). Typically, the standard PADI Divemaster course takes 4-6 weeks to complete and is a life-changing experience.

For those seeking a more comprehensive traineeship, we offer a FREE 4-month PADI Divemaster Internship. We start our search for divers to join our team in Hoi An every year in January/February. The internship is designed to take you well beyond the standard PADI Divemaster certification. During this period, you will work with us on the boat and in the water, learning how to be a leader in all circumstances and with divers of different experience and skill levels.

As a divemaster intern, you will have the opportunity to lead certified divers on up to 100 dives, gaining a wealth of skills and knowledge, and mastering navigation and problem-solving skills while enjoying the colorful coral reefs that surround Cham Island.

Our DM interns will also have the option to complete the PADI DSD Leader program, which allows you to take PADI Discover SCUBA Divers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience as a divemaster and immerse yourself in the PADI PRO lifestyle, regardless of your long-term goals in SCUBA diving. It’s also a great stepping stone to upgrade to PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor.

PADI DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIP

Course requirements:

  • PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent
  • 18 years old
  • 40 logged dives
  • Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training or equivalent within the last 24 months
  • Medically evaluated and cleared for diving within the last 12 months

Required materials (The PADI Divemaster crew-pack):

  • The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving – a comprehensive overview of diving physics, physiology, and equipment.
  • The Diving Knowledge Workbook – a self-study guide used in preparation for the Divemaster and Instructor exams.
  • Divemaster slates • PADI Divemaster Manual
  • CD-ROM with instructor outlines for Divemaster-conducted programs
  • Your own diving equipment.


**Students are welcome to borrow equipment while training, but are required to have their own equipment before completion. We provide good rates for DM’s. Visa cards are accepted.
